Getting to Harbour Island:
While the wedding will take place at The Other Side Resort on Eleuthera, you will stay on Harbour Island.
You will fly into North Eleuthera airport (ELH), just over an hour’s flight from Miami (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL). Carriers offering direct service to ELH include American Airlines from Miami, Delta Airlines from Atlanta, and Silver Airways from Fort Lauderdale. There are also private charters on Aztec and Tropic Airways from Fort Lauderdale Executive airport (FXE) to ELH.
DFW and DAL offer flights to ELH on American Airlines and Delta stopping in Miami or Atlanta.
LAX and SFO offer flights to ELH on American Airlines and Delta stopping in Miami or Atlanta.
MSY offers flights to ELH on American Airlines and Delta stopping in Atlanta.
Once you touch down on Eleuthera, which will be the tiniest airport you’ve been in, it is quick and easy to get to Harbour Island! Once you arrive, simply collect your luggage, grab an island beer or other refreshment from the Jimmy’s across the street, and hop in a cab for the quick 2-minute ride to the boat dock from one of the friendly island drivers that will greet you as you exit the airport. The cab ride to the boat dock is $5 per person (cash), followed by a beautiful ten minute "water taxi" ride, also $5 per person (cash) into Harbour Island. Water taxis depart to and from Harbour Island every 10 minutes. Land and water taxis are always available during the day and happily accept cash. If you booked your golf cart through Conch & Coconut please direct your water taxi driver to drop you off at Valentines Resort & Marina (not the government dock) where your golf cart will be waiting for you!
If you prefer private accommodations, Conch & Coconut will arrange your pickup from the airport and a private water taxi ride to your golf cart. Please email Shaq at shaq@conchandcoconut.com. Shaq will also arrange your private Covid-19 testing for re-entry into the United States if that is still a requirement in June.
*We recommend bringing at least $300 in cash. ATM and credit card machines are often down.
*The Bahamian Dollar is equivalent to the US Dollar, but both are accepted as currency.
Getting Around Harbour Island:
Harbour Island is only 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. Once on the island, the best (and only!) way to travel is by golf cart. While there are plenty on the island, you must reserve yours well ahead of time (at least 3-4 months) - there are 2, 4 and 6-seaters available. Please let whichever rental vendor you choose know your day and time of arrival and they will have your golf cart waiting for you at the water taxi boat dock.
